Derek Matthews jumped right into the project, arriving onsite the day after our initial call and organized a team over the weekend to start measurements and plans. Within several weeks, we had a comprehensive action plan detailing scope of work, extent of local approvals needed and a game plan to accomplish it. Derek and the Titus team (including lead architect Alex Madique) move quickly and intelligently. We had not worked with a design-build team before, but the process was much simpler and we were presented a set of building plans that met our needs within our budget. Within several months of retaining Titus, we had all necessary approvals to commence our project which had some significant complications due to FEMA issues. Derek managed the process, met hurdles as they arose and was a pleasure to deal with. He was very forthright and direct, attentive to our needs and the needs of the project. The Titus team is ultra professional and personable at the same time. We highly recommend them.

We have found him to be knowledgeable about both design and construction and very skilled at keeping the renovation process moving along; he regularly checks in with us, we never have to call him. He is willing to offer suggestions but also more than willing to listen to and incorporate our ideas. Derek and the entire Titus Built team has been a pleasure to work with.

We had never taken on a renovation of this scale and as we knew we wanted custom cabinetry, we found Titus through a search of local cabinet makers. Everyone at Titus has far exceeded our expectations! Not only does the kitchen look beautiful, but the entire process was so smooth and on schedule. They communicated progress reports almost daily, and let us know of any changes immediately for our approval. To save on cost, we hired another contractor to manage some minor updates throughout the rest of the house, and unfortunately encountered issues with all of those other projects. Now we can confidently say that you get what you pay for, and Titus is worth every penny. I now won’t trust the rest of my house with anyone but them!

Not showing up when promised; small work hiccups causing endless delays; complex projects having huge down time between sub-contractors; work quality opaque and impossible to judge; or completion date disappearing over the horizon? And when it’s over, you don’t want to kiss them on the mouth! None of these applies to Titus Built. Owner Jeff Titus just finished remodeling a bathroom in my 1927 house in record time with a speed, flexibility and orchestration of his own people, top-quality vendors and materials that left me breathless. And saved my marriage to Nancy, who hates sharing a bathroom. Finally, after 22 years in Westport, CT, I have a contractor who works like an old-time doctor -- managing everything. But please don’t call him now: I’ve neglected my old house waiting to find a guy like Jeff and need lots more of his time.Load more
